Dog Owners – You Are The Problem.
I am begging dog owners to actually sit down and read some B.F Skinner for yourself – and prove to yourself that everything you know of dog training needs to go in the garbage. My battle is not with dog trainers – my battle is with dog owners that have been convinced to abuse their sentient animals.
Trainers have you doing to your dog things that you wouldn’t dare do to your cat. And you know damn well why – shock that cat on the neck and see the result. That cat would never trust you again – but the dog never stops trying. It’s taking advantage of the dogs want and desire to be with you that’s bred into them. Your cat in reality could care less about you.
Someone made comments on my youtube channel this morning – stating that my understanding of Skinner is wrong. They went on to say that they read discussions “about” Skinner – and that is what they are using to declare me wrong. There are alot of people out there that are arguing the contents of books they haven’t read. And they firmly believe that Positive Reinforcement is have a treat and adding things. This happens all the time – dog owners and trainers alike declaring my understanding wrong – but they haven’t read a book.
If trainers are going to blame Skinner? Why isn’t Skinner mandatory reading? Cause not one trainer that I’ve met has actually read any Skinner. The entire basis of dog training is blamed on Skinner – but none have read his books. Chew on that one for a while – roll it around your mouth and get a good taste of it.
How many more dogs need to die – be killed behaviourally – before owners start actually verifying what they are being told? How many more dog owners need to have their lives destroyed before they verify what they are being told? You are destroying yourself and your dog – being guided by dog trainers themselves into destination f’d.
B.F Skinner created the punishment quadrants? What a crock of lies – Skinner openly opposed punishment because once you understand what a behaviour is – then punishment isn’t going to work. And euthanasia is the ultimate in punishment – it’s final. Euthanasia for behaviours shouldn’t be happening. But they all line up to tell you to kill your dog?!?
I have had discussions with dogs owners over zoom – their trainer, their behaviourist and their vet is calling them demanding they make an appointment for them to euthanize the dog. Chew on that for a while too – get a good taste it. “Professionals’ are all gung ho to kill your dog – and they couldn’t even define the word behaviour to begin with.
Now – go ask your dog trainer, your behaviourist or your vet to actually define the word behaviour? They can’t or they won’t – they don’t understand what a behaviour is – they don’t have any reason to care.
Do you like Robert Cabral? Believe that he’s some expert in behaviours? 20 years in the behaviour ring – listen to Cabral (and he blames Skinner too) define the word behaviour and ask yourself – does he belong in the behaviour ring? And people cheer this crap on cause they don’t know any better – and they won’t verify. Listen to Cabrals own words – it’s the right timestamp. He doesn’t like big words – surprise surprise.
Dog training is all punishment – there is no positive to it at all – it is abuse of a sentient animal from one end to the other – live and in color on youtube. Dog trainers have you punishing your dog in the worst possible ways – and you don’t understand it. Those treats are punishing your dog – and you don’t realize it.
And then you wonder why you have to train recall with shock? Ever stop and think that after everything you’ve done to your sentient dog – that maybe – just maybe they don’t want to be your friend? They don’t want to be around you? They don’t want anything to do with you?
Chew on that statement for a while too – really get a good taste of it. The dog isn’t the problem – the dog isn’t broken. Dog training was built broken and it’s designed to break you and your relationship with your dog.
If I treated my human friends the way you are being told to treat your dog? Nobody would want to be my friend – nobody would want to be around me. Should I train recall to force them to stay in my life? Shock them every time they try to run away?
Does that not sound ridiculous when you replace dog with human? Then why are you doing it to your sentient dog? That’s pretty radical right? Welcome to radical behaviourism? The complete opposite of “dog training” and Methodological behaviourism.
I am begging you – wake up. If nothing else – sit down and read the summation of B.F Skinners book “About Behaviourism”. Prove to yourself – for the sake of your dog – that dog trainers are blatantly lying to you about the “science” – and most of them don’t even know it cause they haven’t read the book either.
Here’s the PDF. You can read it right now.

I didn’t know it at the time but dog training broke me and my relationship with my dog. It was the relentless search for the perfect method that would suit my dog (train the dog in front of you) that kept me going further into it. You’re right- my dog did want to please me in the beginning even with all the tools around his neck, until one day he didn’t. That one day that he stared straight into my eyes and showed me teeth- I knew we were broken but I blamed him, his breed, genetics, the age I got him etc- I had many excuses. The reality is- I did that to him, I broke our relationship, dog trainers just took my money and taught me how.
Thank you Robert for all your blogs- every single one of them will lead owners to better relationships with their dogs. We are lucky to them- grateful for you as always!

Rosy, you are very welcome. All I gave was knowledge, you chose to understand it and apply it.
